Control Tower Panorama
Control Tower Panorama
In this Balthazar Korab photo from the early 1960s, two air traffic controllers (one of them with a cigarette) survey the sprawling runways of Dulles Airport spread out beneath the windows of the control tower. Among the 1960s equipment, you won't find any computers – they are still decades off. In the distance, futuristic mobile lounges carry passengers to airplanes waiting to take off.
